the Art of by Ralph & Lahni DeAmicis As the windows start to open and the breezes shake the dust out of the curtains Feng Shui can offer some valuable help for the Spring cleaning rituals. Feng Shui is an Asian art that shows how changing your environment changes your life. So how do you best change that dustbin that your family room has become over the winter into a cheerful, happy haven for you and your family? The first thing is to get focused. Pick the busiest door into the room and place a bright, inspiring picture so you see it as soon as you walk in the door. The higher you place it the better, and to be most effective it should be a little bit to the right. Just make sure that it grabs your eyes as soon as you enter. Next clean up that entranceway. Make sure the door can open completely and there's nothing slowing down the flow of energy (Chi) into the room. More rooms become cluttered due to coats hanging on the back of the door, or vacuum cleaners jammed into that little useless space than any other reason. Imagine the Chi coming in the door as a stream of water. If you clamp down on that flow don't be surprised when your room becomes a stagnant swamp. Now that you've cleared the pathway start cleaning. Work your way around the room clock ways. That's the way energy normally flows and this way you're not working against the flow. Decide what you need and what you don't. Be ruthless, think recycling, and realize that you have to make room for the good you want to invite into your life! So toss out those things that make you feel yucky and prepare to feel great! Drs.
