The Dream Desk Questionnaire: Improving Personal & Team Performance Through Recognizing Your ErgoDynamic Personality
by Ralph and Lahni DeAmicis
Genius is in the details and in a personal work space the difference between success through efficiency in contrast to failure through ignorance is often determined by a collection of small, repetitious movements that you make in the course of your workday. That is because the way you position your work place in relation to the dimensions of your unique anatomy either consumes or minimizes your expenditure of energy, and the results are cumulative. They either build a foundation that supports you, or pile obstructions upon you one after another.
You would think that knowing how to position yourself most effectively would be 'common sense', after all, you have used your body for practical tasks in diverse environments your whole life? But commanding the office space comes with a particular stumbling block, because you spent most of your first twelve working years at desks not of your choice. All that time you spent in school required sitting at desks, within rooms, that someone else set up before you arrived on the scene, taking little concern for you individual genius and requirements. You had no choice about the direction you faced, the size of your desk, your distance to the teacher, who you sat nearby, the light sources, what you looked at and in fact all of the myriad influences that affect your performance.
Since you had no input about that arrangement, you didn't develop any practical experience with what works best for you and how to set that up . When you finally were required to set up your own workspace you probably fell back on the arrangement that your parents created for you, suitable for doing homework, because that is what you know. Maybe you were lucky enough to land at a desk at work that supported your talents, and you clung to that station as long as you could. If you were smart you re-created that configuration in your next position, but you probably didn't because you didn't realize the importance of positioning. Here is the key; very successful people have an instinctive grasp of the power of positioning, and you can too. The Dream Desk Questionnaire, with its seven multiple choice questions, and diverse answers, will lead you step by step through the process of creating your best possible work space.
The Dream Desk Questionnaire goes beyond simple ergonomics to Ergo Dynamics, understanding how to maximize the performance of an interrelated team through knowledge of the power of positioning of people, tools and environments. Find it on Amazon Kindle HERE
The Clutter Bug’s Emergency Handbook : The True Cause of Chaos and How to FixIt
by Ralph and Lahni DeAmicis
You probably think this should be a bigger book, because Clutter is such a BIG problem, tied to toxic emotions, poor self-worth and a lack of discipline. Yes, those are a part of Clutter, but they are not the cause, they are the results!
Clutter is a physical problem, and it is caused by the messages your surroundings send to your physical body. Those messages tell your nervous system to act in a certain way. If the messages encourage clarity and confidence, Clutter doesn’t develop. If those messages promote anxiety and lack of focus, ‘stuff’ piles up, along with all those other issues.
This book will show you how to change your surroundings, so they send you the correct messages, and once you do that, clarity and confidence follow. It’s not that complicated, although to explain this most effectively requires a bunch of illustrations! Find it on Amazon Kindle HERE
